Gammalgrass marks its 10th anniversary with a live album recording! 

Gammalgrass is a super trio in the truest sense of the word, where Stian Carstensen, Ola Kvernberg and Ole Morten Vågan give bluegrass, folk music and a whole lot of other things a whirl, with a seductive cocktail of beat, tone and contempt for death. 

Gammalgrass has played country and beach around the country and abroad, and is known for exorbitant musicianship at a high level, where the tempo is at times as quick  as the spontaneous changes in styles. Not as well known, they are for their releases - or release. The album "Obsolete Music 1" saw the light of day in 2014 for a Spellemann nomination and a couple of sixes from the occasional music reviewer. After a 10-year launch tour, the three-span is now looking its cut to finally open up the next chapter. Most self-respecting super trios would perhaps see a golden opportunity to record and release the long-awaited sequel. But who has time to go to the studio and tinker when there are concerts to be played? No, the difficult second album will be recorded live! 

In the spring of 2024, Gammalgrass will mark its 10th anniversary with an exclusive recording tour where the trio's energy, spontaneity and interaction with the audience will be captured and immortalized - and later released for fiddler nominations and sixes so that they can tour for 10 new years.
