Since 2001, the trio has cultivated Wiik's compositions with great respect and empathy, at the same time as each individual musician has brought with them their own individual characteristics. After several years of waiting, This is not a Waltz arrived in 2017, and received good reports from both the Norwegian and international press. Håvard Wiik is one of Norway's most prominent jazz pianists, with a background in, among others, Atomic, Element and Freefall, and has been Artist in Residence at the Molde Jazz Festival. Bassist Ole Morten Vågan is at home in everything from Motif and Trondheim Jazz Orchestra to Bugge Wesseltoft, while Håkon Mjåset Johansen has played with practically everone, from Come Shine to Chick Corea.
