Anja Lauvdal has brought her dream band with her in a celebration of, and musical reflection on, the river. The music springs from a desire to explore local nature, and the idea that the better you know the nature around you, the more you will want to take care of it. The Cosmic River ensemble was part of Anja Lauvdal's Artist In Residence program during the Kongsberg Jazz Festival last year. The music has an activist touch and is inspired by, among others, the Charlie Haden Music Liberation Orchestra and Don Cherry's Organic Music Society.
